Toyota Presents The Oakdale Theatre Tickets Information

Toyota Presents Oakdale Theatre has a capacity of five thousand and is one of the foremost performing arts and music venues in Connecticut. Its beginnings were humble, however, but are a testament to how far this theatre has risen. It all began in 1957 when the theatre was founded, situated in an alfalfa field under a tent. It was founded as a summer stock theatre and from then onwards, it grew, led by a team that decided to make history and defeat all odds. In 1972, a wooden dome replaced the tent and seated over three thousand people. A rotating stage, a novelty at the time, was constructed at the center, creating a round theatre.
During the nineties, Toyota Presents Oakdale Theatre was again enlarged to become a five thousand seat performing arts center with the round theatre converted to an amphitheatre with an end stage. Construction began in 1995 and was completed in 1996 with a twenty million dollar budget. A new theatre was created with the original dome being turned into a lobby. A stage house was constructed, complete with a trap room, an orchestra pit and backstage rooms for performers and crew. A loading dock and scenery management area was also added and so were restrooms, public spaces and other areas. As of then, it became the largest theatre in all of Connecticut, opened to the public with a  concert by country music artists Brooks & Dunn.
Owned today by Live Nation, Toyota Presents Oakdale Theatre ha splayed host to many famous pop, rock, country and R&B artists and standup comedians. As a venue famous all over America, it has been part of a Family Guy episode and thus a place to sample entertainment with Toyota Presents Oakdale Theatre tickets in hand.
