Western College Hockey Association has been around for more than five decades, and through the passage of time it has been enriched with history, tradition and success.
The organization was founded as the Midwest Collegiate Hockey League in 1951 and later it was renamed to Western Intercollegiate Hockey Association, a name that would remain until it finally came down to Western Collegiate Hockey League in 1959.
