The Visalia Oaks is name of one of the minor league baseball teams, located in the town of Visalia in California State. They are considered as a "high-A" class team of the Arizona Diamondbacks operating in the California League.

They play their home games at Recreation Park; which was opened in 1967. The stadium has a seating capacity of 1,800 fans. There is a multimillion dollar renovation of Recreation Park in the year of 2006, with the 10 year lease agreement signed by the Visalia Oaks.
The Oaks have a history of affiliations with many Major League franchises. The most recent are the Minnesota Twins, Colorado Rockies, Oakland A's, Detroit Tigers, Tampa Bay Rays, and Arizona Diamondbacks. The present owners of the team want to change the name of the team and its mascot.
They want to make it more profitable entity, so fans have began submitting ideas and opinions on the change on the request of its owners. The Visalia Times-Delta has reported that the new name and mascot will most likely reflect the local agricultural lifestyle. The present mascot of Visalia Oaks is a squirrel named Chatter.
Chatter was introduced in the early 1990's after the team changed their name back to the Oaks from the Central Valley Rockies. There is a remarkable change in the appearance of it, as it has been given a cartoon like appearance. It is an important question by many of the fans, as to where exactly Chatter's tail has gone.
Visalia has a long and rich history of the professional baseball, which dates back to more than 100 years, as it first started in the 1880's.
At that time, the club teams of Visalia had used to play squads from Bakersfield and Fresno in front of paid audiences in diamonds cut out of farmland. The major league affiliation of baseball started with the opening of Recreation Park in 1946.
In all those 64 years, a minor league club has kept on playing in Visalia every year except for the stretch from 1963-67. it is important to note that Visalia has been a part of the California League for that entire time.
It has eleven major league affiliations and a chance to send almost 140 players on to the big leagues. Visalia had twice been a champion and finished in first place for five times.
The Recreation Park has produced some of the most renowned players like Kirby Puckett, Vada Pinson, Kent Hrbek, Eric Chavez, and current Giants' star pitcher Barry Zito.
Seven league MVPs have played in Visalia, but no Visalia player has ever been the California League's pitcher of the year. Visalia has played as the Oaks since 1977 excluding, a brief stint as the Central Valley Rockies in 1993 & 1994.
There is a joint collaboration between Oaks and Habitat for Humanity for the help of the people in need. It has started with an aluminum can drive and continued with the construction of houses around the greater Visalia area, the Oaks and Habitat for Humanity have taken an active role in the community.
The family ownership group of the Visalia Oaks, Top of the Third, is led by Kevin O'Malley and Tom Seidler. The seven-year period has been marked by stability and growth in attendance.
The Ballclub and the City of Visalia have a ten-year lease, which is the longest in franchise history, and worked together on the first major renovation to the ballpark since the 1960's.
