Benise Tickets Information
Benise was born and raised in a small town of Nebraska, United States. Like most of the teenagers of his age, he was interested in music and wanted to be a rock star. So serious was he about his choice of profession that he taught himself how to play guitar. By the age of eleven he was already playing in several bands, working the local scene. Soon he realized that his small town was too small for his ambitions. He also felt limited so he moved to Los Angeles, California. In the "City of Angels" he had to work hard to make his potential known to the rest of the world. He undertook all sorts of odd jobs to make ends meet, but continued playing guitar at night. He was highly influenced by guitar greats like Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page and others.
His life changed however one day while listening to Spanish guitar on his car radio. He exchanged his rock guitar for nylon string Spanish guitar and relearned the instrument all over again. Because of his rock background and new found love for Spanish tunes, he was able to create a fine mixture of Spanish and rock guitar music. There were however no takers of Spanish guitar at that time in Los Angeles, so he followed his heart and formed a street band. This band with unique fusion music, which could also be called world music, played everywhere in Los Angeles. Slowly and steadily their name and music started to create a niche for itself amongst the American music lovers. Now
Benise and his band were not only being invited by local clubs but he was also renting out theatres for concerts. His first main concert was named Love, Music, and Life!
Benise’s biggest break came when his mega celebration of world music was aired by PBS nationwide. The event was called Nights of Fire! It was nothing but celebration of samba, tango, salsa, flamenco, with African music fused with western rock music. But this was just one side of the coin. The world music masterfully played by
Benise and band was staged alongside fine theatrical performances by world-class dancers. No wonder than that this mega event was taken as "Cirque du Soleil meets Latin Riverdance"! Its soundtrack reached the very top on the Billboard New Age Chart, winning
Benise an Emmy.
Benise has come a long way from his Nights of Fire! days. Ever since, he has acquired his own record label called Rosanegra Music, producing albums like Taboo , Angels , Romance & Passion , Cuba , Sentimento , The Spanish Guitar, amongst many others. More recently he has been performing alongside his musicians and dancers as what have been described as "The Latin Riverdance". People, who have attended these true celebrations of world music in the form of Benise’s concerts, described them as going on an epic journey through Indian Bollywood, Argentinean Tango, Waltz, Cuban Salsa, and Spanish Flamenco. Surely, this is one event you, a true lover of Spanish guitar and world music would never want to miss!
