     
Pepsi Center is an arena located in Denver, Colorado, USA. The Colorado Avalanche, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Mammoth and Colorado Crush use this arena as their home venue. When not in use by one of Denver's sports teams, the building frequently serves as a concert venue. The 2008 Democratic National Convention is scheduled to be held at the outstanding Pepsi Center.
The construction of Pepsi Center was a part of a 6 year sporting venue upgradation in Denver. It was accompanied by Coors Field, home of the Colorado Rockies, and Invesco Field, home of the Denver Broncos. The complex was made readily accessible. The arena is located on Speer Boulevard, a main thoroughfare in downtown Denver. It is served by a nearby exit off of Interstate 25. There is also a light rail station on the west side of the complex.
The construction of the arena began on November 20, 1997. The area of the building spreads over 4.6 acre. The arena was opened in October, 1999 with Celine Dion concert. The building of the Pepsi arena has seating capacity of 19,099 for basketball games and 18,007 for hockey, arena football and lacrosse games.
There is also a basketball practice facility in the complex. The Nuggest and the Blue Sky Grill use this facility. It also has a restaurant which is accessible from within and without the Center itself. The atrium of the building houses a suspended sculpture depicting various hockey and basketball athletes in action poses.
The Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche used to play in McNichols Sports Arena before the construction of Pepsi Center.
Pepsi Center has the honor of hosting a wide range of prestigious events. These events included 2001 NHL All-Star Game, the 2001 Stanley Cup Finals, and the 2005 NBA All-Star Game. In 2003, WWE Vengeance was held at this center. Since 2004, the center has hosted the Mountain West Conference men's basketball tournament. The Centrix Financial Grand Prix of Denver has been held in the parking lot since 2002.
The Dew Action Sports Tour is a new extreme sports franchise that began in 2005. To host this great event, Denver, Colorado has the honor of being selected as one of 5 cities in the U.S. in 2004.The inaugural event of the Title Right Guard Open was held at Pepsi Center from July 6-10. The Dew Action Sports returned to Denver for its second year in 2006 on July 13-16.
The Pepsi Center is also scheduled to host many important events in future. These events will include the NCAA Men's ice hockey West Regional on March 24 and March 25, 2007, as well as the Men's Frozen Four tournament on April 10 and April 12, 2008. The 2008 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament as a first and second round site will be held at the Pepsi Center. The arena has previously hosted the tournament in the same fashion in 2004.
