The Bank of America formerly the LaSalle Bank Theatre raised its curtain for the first time in 1906 as the Majestic Theater. Named after the building, the theater was home to a number of Vaudeville inspired performances. During this period the theater featured legendary performers like Mabel McKinley, Eddie Foy, Lily Langtry and the great Harry Houdini. With the decline of the Vaudeville genre in the 1930s, the Bank of America Theatre faced financial trouble. The Great Depression and World War Two forced the theater to close down. In 1945, the Shubert Organization opened and remodeled the theater as the Sam Shubert Theater. With renovations, the Shubert’s main purpose was to change the patronage and introduce new acts and performances targeted at a distinguished and a more affluent audience. In 1991 the theater was acquired by the Nederland Organization. The theater went through another restoration in Jan 2005 and opened for business as the LaSalle Theatre in May 2006. Since then it has renamed again after LaSalle Bank was taken over by the Bank of America.

This performance saw Lithgow earn his second Tony Award for Best Actor in A Musical.
