The Wedding Singer Tickets Information

Year 1998-The Wedding Singer, I guess that is the only thing I remember about this year. A romantic comedy by Frank Coraci featuring Adam Sandler (Hero) as Robbie Hart and Drew Barrymore (Heroine) as Julia Sullivan. Adam Sandler became a wedding singer to earn his bread.

The Wedding Singer with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore was a true replica for 80’s. Though few people who lived the 80’s criticized it as a movie more of 1983-1984. Well anyways it still remains 80’s for me. Sparkling Spandex, Curly hair and Atari. Men belly shirts and don’t forget the shoulder pads, so see it was all about 80’s. Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore are successful in transporting the audience to the era of 80 even in 1990. The Wedding Singer became a phenomenon all-around.

The acting, the story and the sound track (Somebody Kill Me Please) and (Come out of the dumpster) worked as a catalyst for the film. The songs tell us the tale of the hero Robbie who was once a marry-go-round carefree person but turned out to be a cynical wedding singer. Though the ravishing Drew Barrymore as waitress is the person who can cure his heartbreak. But unfortunately she already is marrying someone else. Well I guess you got the point for a happy ending hero chases the heroine and then finally they lived happily ever after….. This film ranked on number 8th on Bravo’s 100 Funniest Movies.

This block buster was adapted as a musical Broadway. The show made its first public appearance during the month of January and February in 2006 in Seattle’s theatre. And then followed by another show opening in New York April 27th 2006 at Al Hirschfield theatre. New York cast included comedic songwriter/singer Stephen Lynch as hero and Broadway veteran twice Tony award nominee Laura Benanti as heroine.

This musical was highly appreciated just as the film itself. It was nominated for three Drama league Awards. Then it was nominated for five Tonys: Best book of a musical for Chad Beguelin and Tim Herlihy, Best musical, best choreography for Rob Ashford, Best Original Score for Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin and also the Best leading actor ina musical For Stephen Lynch. The songs pushes the story forwards along with the skillfully woven choreography by Rob Ashford that slightly satires '80s. John Rando's vigorous direction is flawless as he takes the audience from a rented hall to mall to Robbie's apartment in his grandparents' basement. The equally appropriate and entertaining sets are by sets are by Scott Pask.

I guess this list will unable you to rate the musical yourself. This is not the end. The readers of Total Film magazine rated The Wedding Singer as the 43rd greatest comedy film of all times. This is the sort of musical which audience will delightfully munch on as a fine cuisine savoring each and every bite of it without even noticing when it’s finished.
