The magic of Disney has begun again. The spell will be cast on stage now. The super-duper hit, award-winning animated film Tarzan is going to bewilder audiences on stage. It is suppose to be a lavish stage version casting 34 actors featuring Oscar and Grammy Award winning "You'll Be in My Heart" and "Two Worlds". This spectacular aura is directed and designed by Two-time Tony winner Bob Crowley who will also design the show's sets and costumes. This story is based on Edgar Rice Burroughs' novel, "Tarzan of the Apes." And it will be adapted by David Henry Hwang, author of "M. Butterfly". Australian choreographer Meryl Tankard will choreograph it whereas Pichon Baldinu will take care of show's flying and climbing design, Pichon has worked on the long-running off-Broadway success "De La Guarda". The Richard Rodgers Theater will be converted into a jungle and intricate stage set-up evocative of the Lion King. The story starts with a tragic scene where a ship wrecks and the only survival is an infant. Who is unaware of the cruel calamity that befell him? He is the son of a British Lord and Lady. They died in the incident. He is adopted by a childless gorilla female; he becomes a family member among gorillas. The young infant is named Tarzan -white skin. Whereas his original name was John Clayton, Lord Greystoke. Kala becomes his ape mother; a loving and caring creature for the infant. The father gorilla isn't very fond of Tarzan as he considers humans a fatal enemy to the animals. But he is quiet due to his beloved wife. The time passes by and Tarzan grew up among animals learning their skills and tactics extraordinarily.

The whole jungle is all praise for him. Then one day he meets his first human figure a young, beautiful and curious explorer. Tarzan is overwhelmed to see someone of his kind. Then obviously Tarzan falls in love with this young lady Jane and she reciprocate his love. When she returns to America, Tarzan leaves the jungle in search of his true love deserting all his friends and gorilla family. Jane and Tarzan get married, Tarzan starts living for some time in England. Jane gives birth to a beautiful son Jack, who takes the ape's name Korak. After some time Tarzan is scornful of the hypocrisy and artificiality of civilization. So the whole Tarzan family returns to jungle.

The character Tarzan has been known as the best literary characters in the world. It is a whole new experience to bring jungle on stage. For few hours the audience is free from the delicacies of city life and transported in to a simpler, true jungle life which is in sheer contrast with city's luxury.
