This tournament is intended to end on a Monday due to its scheduling near Labor Day. The purse for 2007 will be $7,000,000, with $1,260,000 to the winner.The tournament is part of the FedEx Cup starting in 2007.

History of the Deutsche Bank Championship:
2003
The PGA TOUR teamed with Deutsche Bank, the Tiger Woods Foundation and IMG to create the only official Monday finish on the PGA TOUR in 2003. It has brought PGA TOUR golf back to New England in dramatic style.

The inaugural championship rose over $1.5 million for the Tiger Woods Foundation and local New England charities, setting the record for the largest charitable contribution for a first year event in the history of the PGA TOUR.

2004
The second annual Deutsche Bank Championship was not only another tremendous success in 2004. Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh dueled it out in the final round for the prestigious title of #1 player in the World. Vijay finally dethroned Tiger, to end his five-year reign atop the World Golf Rankings.

2004 also proved to be another great year for charity. Beyond the record-setting golf action, the Deutsche Bank Championship has now raised more than $2.9 million for the Tiger Woods Foundation and local New England charities. This commitment to philanthropy and community partnerships embodies the spirit behind the Deutsche Bank Championship and will be the driving force as we continue to make this event the best on the PGA TOUR.

2005
In 2005, we set another Deutsche Bank Championship record by raising $1.6 million for charity which brings our total to $4.5 for three years.

We also implemented numerous improvements and adjustments that yielded very positive results. Our 10,000 square foot Kids Village hosted a wealth of interactive activities for children and their parents including a miniature putting green, arts-and-crafts area, PGA TOUR player autograph area, Boston Red Sox World Series trophy display and EA Sports Tiger Woods 2005 game area. Kids Zones were viewing areas for children that were located on the tee boxes and greens providing children with 'front row' viewing of PGA TOUR golf. The success of both of these programs has set a benchmark for the PGA TOUR and recorded another industry leading innovation created by the Deutsche Bank Championship and our partners.

2006
The Deutsche Bank Championship set another record by raising $2.6 million for charity which brings our total to over $7 million for four years in 2006.

We also were honored to have, in another dramatic shootout with Vijay Singh; Tiger Woods win his fifth straight PGA TOUR event. This incredible competition allowed us to receive a championship record in network television ratings with a 3.8 rating on the final round. The 2006 Championship was another tremendous success all in all.

The championship launched three significant programs that were all well received. The championship launched its first ever kick-off concert with Sheryl Crow and John Mayer. We also started both the Birdies for Charity program as well as our first ever DBC Junior Challenge Cup which was played over the weekend at Boston Golf Club. With the FedEx Cup and the PGA TOUR Playoff teed up for next year, the future of the Deutsche Bank Championship is very bright.
