Auburn Tigers Tickets Information
Several sports teams of Auburn University are referred to as the Auburn Tigers. The university fields 18 varsity teams in 13 sports. Being the member of the Southeastern Conference, the university competes in NCAA Division I.
Football:
Auburn's football team has the honor of being named national champions eight times over the years. It also includes the Associated Press title in 1957 (the only year Auburn University claims). The team is currently coached by Tommy Tuberville.
Bo Jackson in 1985 and Pat Sullivan in 1971 were two famous players of Auburn who won the Heisman Trophy. The Trophy's namesake, John Heisman, coached at Auburn from 1895 until 1899.
With a capacity of 87,451, Auburn's Jordan-Hare Stadium is ranked as the eighth-largest on-campus stadium in the NCAA as of August 2004.
Swimming and diving:
Auburn's swimming and diving program has become a virtual dynasty in the SEC in the last decade under head coach David Marsh. With consecutive NCAA championships for both the men and women in 2003 and 2004 it threatens to do the same nationally. The men were successful in winning their fifth consecutive title in 2007 while the women were national champions for the second consecutive year in 07. They finished 2005 as national runner-up to Southeastern Conference rival Georgia.
The National Championship was repossessed by the Auburn women from Georgia in 2006. They won by only three points, which is the second smallest margin in NCAA Swimming history.
After leading Stanford and Texas to 12 NCAA titles from 1984-2005, former Auburn head coach Richard Quick will return to the plains on March 8th, 2007. He is replacing Marsh who will become the Head Elite Coach and CEO of the United States Olympic Committee Center of Excellence at the end of the 2007 Swimming and Diving season.
Men's basketball:
The Auburn men's basketball team has also shown good performances but it has never been a consistent winner. Charles Barkley is its best known alumni .Chuck Person, Wesley Person, Chris Porter, Marquis Daniels, Moochie Norris, and Pat Burke are other famous NBA players from Auburn.
Women's basketball
The Auburn women's basketball team has proved itself an outstanding team with its performance. It has been consistently competitive both nationally and within the SEC.
Auburn has the honor of winning four regular season SEC championships and four SEC Tournament championships. In the NCAA women's basketball tournament, AU has made sixteen appearances and only once, in the Tigers first appearance in 1982, have the Tigers lost in the first round.
Baseball
Six SEC championships and three SEC Tournament championships have been won by Auburn Baseball. The team also appeared in sixteen NCAA Regionals and reached the College World Series (CWS) four times.
Women's Golf
Auburn's Women's Golf team has risen to be extremely competitive in the NCAA in recent years. They have been holding a 854-167-13 (.826 win percentage) record since 1999. The team have been in five NCAA finals. They finished second in 2002 and then third in 2005.
The program has a total of six SEC Championships (1989, 1996, 2000, 2003, 2005, and 2006).
Out of 229 total teams since 1999, Auburn was named the #3 team nationally by GolfWeek magazine in October of 2005.
Women's Soccer
Auburn Soccer has been one of the top programs of the SEC. Started in 1993, the team has now a constant player in the SEC Conference championship race. Auburn has the honor of winning four straight SEC West division titles between 2001-2004 and a fifth in 2006. The Regular Season SEC title in 2002 was also won by the tam.

Tiger Walk:
Thousands of Auburn fans line Donahue Avenue to cheer on the team as they walk from Sewell Hall to Jordan-Hare Stadium before each Auburn home football game.
Toomer's Corner:
The intersection of Magnolia and College streets in Auburn, which marks the transition from downtown Auburn to the university campus, is known as Toomer's Corner. It is named after Toomer's Drugs, a small store on the corner that has been an Auburn landmark for over 150 years.
Rivals:
Alabama and Georgia are two primary rivals of Auburn. Alabama is the most heated rival, and considered to be the most intense rivalry in the country. Georgia and Auburn compete in the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry, dating back to 1892. It is one of the longest running and most played series in the NCAA.
