Arizona Cardinals Tickets Information
The Arizona Cardinals-a professional American football team located in the Phoenix metropolitan area. The club shifted to the new Cardinals Stadium in the suburb of Glendale in 2006. At present the team is member of the Western Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL).
The Cardinals has the honor of being the oldest existing professional American football club in the United States. The team was created in 1898 as the Morgan Athletic Club in Chicago, Illinois. At that moment the team was named the Racine Normals till they were initially placed on Racine Avenue then they moved to Chicago's Normal Field. After that they altered their name to the Racine Cardinals and began wearing cardinal-red uniforms.
Once again the team was renamed to The Chicago Cardinals after becoming a charter member of the NFL in 1920. In 1960 The Cardinals moved to St. Louis, Missouri. And after that then relocated to the Phoenix area in 1988. Cardinals were famous as the Phoenix Cardinals before it began using "Arizona" in its name in 1994.
Regardless of moving to St. Louis and then to Arizona, the team had always stayed in either an Eastern conference or division. Before the 1953 season, when the team was separated into Eastern and Western conferences, the Cardinals were positioned in the East and the Chicago Bears were placed in the West. After the 1970 AFL-NFL Merger, the team was placed in the NFC East. Finally, The Cardinals were moved to the NFC West as part of the 2002 realignment.
The Cardinals stood victorious in 1925 and 1947 and became NFL Champions. Unluckily, the team couldn’t win a league title since then, and thus presently holds the NFL record for the longest championship famine. In addition the Cardinals also won just two division titles (1974 and 1975) since their 1947 NFL championship. In spite of being the oldest existing professional football franchise in the United States, the Cardinals have an all-time postseason record of 2-5 (not including the 1964 Bert Bell Benefit Bowl).
The era of 1950s was a complete depressing and full of failure time for Cardinals they could only manage 33 victories for the decade. After a long struggle the Cardinals were gifted with a stadium of their own. This magnificent stadium was opened on August 12, 2006, having a capacity of 63,500-seats that is further extendable to 72,800. Cardinals won their first game here defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers, 21-13, in a preseason game.
