Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Tickets Information

The RockRoll Hall of Fame tickets are available! This is your one-way ticket to “meet” your favorite rock stars of yesterday and today! For some, it would be a journey into that distant past which was fun, glorious and all about party! For this group, entertainers and rockers like Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry and others rule among the hot favorites. For the others, rockers like Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, and Ozzy Osbourne, would be the biggest attraction. Whatever the age group, rock music has rocked us all over the years! Therefore, to commemorate those who have given their lives to the world of rock music, the RockandRoll Hall of Fame and Museum located in Cleveland, Ohio, is just the perfect place!

Before the place for the RockRoll Hall of Fame and Museum was finalized, a Foundation of the same name had already been established in 1983. On the face of it, the Museum should have been built either in the New York City, Cincinnati, Detroit, or Memphis! After all, some of the biggest recording studios are based in these cities like King Records, Motown Records, Stax Records, etc. However, it was the passion and zeal of the people of Cleveland, which got them this Museum. The fact that rock and roll first ever concert was held in Cleveland, also helped. Alan Freed, a DJ, who had over-worked to make the term “rock and roll” famous, was also a Clevelander. In addition, the fact that over half a million Clevelanders had signed the petition to build the Museum in their city and raised over $65 million, finally made the search committee decide in favor of Cleveland.

The RockandRoll Hall of Fame and Museum is essentially a tribute paid to all those who have given their lives to this lively genre. Rock and roll promoters, creators and performers are considered on annual basis to be inducted into this prestigious Museum. It must be mentioned that not all rockers have or will make it to this prestigious house. Only the very best like Roy Orbison, The Doors, The Clash, Bob Dylan, Queen, U2, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Who, The Supremes, Elvis Presley, and others have made it into this Museum.

The construction started in 1993 and the groundbreaking ceremony was initiated by legends Chuck Berry and Pete Townshend. The outstanding feature of this downtown Cleveland building is the tower with a glass pyramid extending beyond it. The tower is 162 ft tall, and the building base is about 150,000 square-feet. The Museum opened its doors to all the lovers of rock and roll from all over the world on September 2, 1995. The ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by many, including Little Richard and Yoko Ono. Dr. Bruce Conforth, was the first curator of the RockRoll Hall of Fame and Museum, who himself was a rock and folk musician.

The Museum has seven levels and the Hall of Fame is on the third level. There is a wall inside the Hall which has all the signatures of the inductees. This wall gets updated on yearly basis when an induction ceremony takes place at the New York’s Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. As it could be imagined, the competition to get into this infamous Hall of Fame is stiff. An artist or group is only considered after his/their first record had been released some 25 years ago and not before. Those considered for induction must have influenced the rock music significantly. Induction into the Hall is considered in four categories: Sidemen, early influences, non-performers, and performers. The performers’ category is not just exclusive to singers, but it also includes instrumentalists, bands, and vocal groups.

The RockandRoll Hall of Fame and Museum is known to be Mecca of rock music fans! True lovers and fans of the genre make pilgrimage to the beautiful city of Cleveland every year to cherish the very best which is called rock! Are you one of them? If you are, you must buy the RockRoll Hall of Fame tickets now and be amongst the legends!
