And in total all four elevators weigh 380,000 pounds. Whereas 2,500 pounds of "snow" falls on the Great Stage while the show goes on.
Another big feature of the show is the artificial surface with the same properties as real ice. This "ice" rink is built on a movable platform it is used during the "Christmas in New York" scene. The mighty Wurlitzer Organ that is played through out all performances of The Radio City Christmas Spectacular is one of kind. This huge organ consists of 4,328 pipes with one million moving parts.
The background or the scenic backdrops of this show-The Radio City Christmas Spectacular measure 95 feet in width and 45 feet in height. This size is nearly double the normal theatrical size. The complicated sound system is so profound that it enables spectators to hear the Radio City Orchestra from any seat in the theater.
