The band had to go through a lot of criticism but many other bands also followed their style and used sexual connotations in their songs but still criticized Night Rangers too. Many of the songs became a prom favorite and the young girls applauded their airplay. During 1984 and 2987, Night Ranger also contributed in various teen films which acted as a significant appraisal of the soundtracks and the recorded songs made especially for the films.
In 2003, Alan Fitzgerald left the band and Great White replaced him instead. During 2008, the band decided to go to Guantanamo Bay , Cuba to boost the morale of the Marine and Navy Officers on the island. Their visit was greatly appreciated and contributed in their sales and fan rating increased too. Till today Night Ranger has successfully sold almost 16 million albums all over the globe and has countless fans too.

In 2010, Hoekstra played with Trans Siberian Orchestra during their Winter Tour. NightRanger released their latest endeavor in 2011 titled Somewhere in California . Night Ranger also toured with the most noted Journey and Foreigner in 2011.
