On that album, Cudi featured on a track titled “Welcome to Heartbreak” and also worked with Kanye West on the lyrics of Paranoid and Heartless. After the release of all the songs that he worked on with West, Cudi started getting attention of the various forms of media and was listed as MC to Watch in 2009 in a report by MTV News.
Cudi made his first National Television appearance in 2008, when he joined DJ AM and Travis Barker on the MTV Video Music Awards. His next appearance followed shortly after when he was featured on Snoop Dogg’s “Dogg After Dark”, and there he also performed Day ‘n’ Nite. After completing the video for “Day ‘n’ Nite”, Cudi appeared with Kanye West on BET’s 106 & Park, on February 19, 2009. In addition to that, he has also appeared as a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Late Show With David Letterman. He also performed three songs at the Last Call with Carson Daly on NBC.
Cudi released his debut studio album by the name of “Man on the Moon: The End of Day” on September 15, 2009. The album was released on Universal Motown Records and debuted at #4 spot on the Album’s Chart. The album also featured “Day n Nite” as its first single, which went on to become Cudi’s biggest charting success so far. “Day ‘n’ Nite” was then followed by second single from the album titled “Make Her Say”. The song also features Common and Kanye West as well as the samples from Lady Gaga’s hit track, Poker Face.
Cudi’s follow up studio album “Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager” hit the shelves on November 9, 2010. Erase Me was released as first single from the album as the album peaked and debuted at #3 spot on U.S Billboard 200 chart. Album also received positive reviews from the music critics.
