His debut album via a label was released in December 2004 and was titled Get Lifted. It debuted at no. 7 on the Billboard 200 and sold around 116, 000 copies in its first week of release – it then sold a record 2.1 million copies in the US with 3 million copies worldwide and was the recipient of a Platinum certification by the RIAA. Two of this album’s singles ranked 1 st on the US and UK charts. As of then, he has released an album in 2006, an album in 2008 and a collaborative album with the Roots in 2010.
