Joe Walsh Tickets Information
Born in Wichita, Kansas, Walsh grew up in New York City after his family relocated there when he was only twelve. He attended Montclair High School, and during his high school years Walsh started playing along with some bands based in the Cleveland area. From thereon, Joe Walsh had his mind set for the music industry and he materialized his dream of being in a mainstream band in 1968, when was recruited as the lead guitarist for the James Gang. His creative and innovative guitar playing took him up to stardom, and he became the main attraction of James Gang. Although James Gang had mediocre amount of success and released a couple of albums, but Walsh’s time in the band helped him a lot in getting the mainstream attraction.
After a few years in 1971, Walsh decided to part ways from James Gang and formed up his own band called Barnstorm. The group released a self titled debut album the following year, which garnered positive critical reception but failed to get good sales. Walsh’s breakthrough commercial hit followed in shortly, when he released his next studio album by the name of The Smoker You Drink, the Player you Get. Rocky Mountain Way was released as the lead single from the album and it managed to earned #23 spot on Top 40 Chart, in addition to receiving enormous amount of radio airplay. Later on Joe Walsh decided to pursue a career as a solo musician, and he disbanded Barnstorm in 1974.
Walsh made his official debut as a solo musician later that year when he released So What. The album was followed by a live album. The following year, Walsh joined Eagles as a replacement for Bernie Leadon. Prior to the addition of Walsh to the band’s lineup, Eagles had a more country music sound to their music. But as soon as Walsh joined the band, the sound of their music changed significantly and their music turned a bit more towards the Rock genre. Walsh made a huge contribution to Eagles’ mega hit studio album Hotel California and also co-wrote two of the songs from the album. Hotel California really boosted the reputation of the band as well as its band members including Joe Walsh.
While the Eagles were working for their follow up release, Walsh started working on another one of his solo albums alongside and released But Seriously, Folk… in 1978. The album received good positive reception, both by critics and fans. Later in 1980 when Eagles disbanded, Walsh decided to remain solo and released a couple of studio album throughout the following decade. In mid 80s, Walsh was also invited by a famous Australian band The Party Boys to perform along with them on their tour. Walsh accepted the offer, and played along with them throughout their Australian tour in 1985. Moreover he was also featured on their live album called You Need Professional Help. In 1989, Joe Walsh accompanied Ringo Starr on his tour and performed with his All Starr Band.
