Since then, the band has gained a huge fan following and become one of the best known names in its genre and in the entire American music industry. This group is composed of artists who play music that falls in the dub, reggae, rock and the sub genre of sunshine reggae. All members of this American group are originally from Hawaii , thus giving their music yet another different taste and a unique style. Iration's lineup is composed of many fabulous artists; this includes Joseph Dickens, Cayson Peterson, Adam Taylor, Kai Rediske, Micah Pueschel and Joseph King. This Santa Barbara CA group with its members originally from sunny Hawaii has already made waves in the world of reggae. This group originated from Isla Vista in the state of California , a town near the University of California Santa Barbara . The group started from garage jam sessions that occurred at the house of one of the members. This was followed soon after by playing live at many local venues and events, something that was fueled further by the endless flow of students from the university next door. Thus it was that in a short time, this amazing reggae group became a local and then regional sensations. Their music has also gained a new and popular label; IRIE music.
From playing near the University of Califonia Santa Barbara , this reggae group went on to other college places and towns including Chico State , UC Davis and Cal Poly SLO. This is also a music group with a charitable heart and a philanthropic aim; one of the group's concerts performed live and organized by Alpha Epsilon Pi had its proceeds all donated to the charity, Camp Kesem. In 2006, after hardly a couple of years of performing live, this reggae outfit was out with its first EP, New Roots . This EP was released in 2006 and soon became a regional sensation even making waves in the entire US. This EP resulted in the band becoming a hit sensation in the state of California and developing a huge fan base as well as networking with the renowned bands in the Californian music scene.
This is a band that is so fabulous that even the media has been left speechless; the Santa Barbara Independent reviews and praises this as a band that can capture the undivided attention of a crowd of drunken people and manage to do so regularly. After the release of the EP, this amazing band was back again with the hit album, No Time for Rest which was released and featured the song In This Generation Time , one of the few last recorded songs by the legendary Mikey Dread, a deity in the world of reggae. The Iration song, Cookie Jar , ranked first in Hawaii , was featured on Triple Crown of Surfing on Fuel TV and was featured on not one but two MTV shows, Living Lahaina and Maui Fever.
2008 saw Iration go on a national US tour, the Playboys in Paradise tour alongside Pepper. The same year, the EP Sample This was released which contained the hit single Falling and which ranked at number three on the Top Selling Reggae Albums Worldwide on iTunes. It was reviewed as the ‘perfect four songs you could release at one time’ by The Pier. The band also went on to work on four songs alongside the Grammy Award winning songwriter, Charles Brotman and are now hard at work on their second release, a release whose songs may be heard at the next live show you hear and see live through Iration tickets.
