Hillsong Tickets Information

Before it got baptized as a Christian rock band, Hillsong United existed as a coterie of friends within the Hillsong church’s youth ministry. Calling themselves the “Powerhouse Youth”, the group was fronted by Pastor Donna Crouch for a number years. Senior members of the Hillsong Church hierarchy such as Darlene Zschech and Music Director Peter King also contributed significantly to the original band that came up with original “praiseworthy” numbers as well as remixed popular tunes that were played on radio. Towards the end of the 20 th century, Powerhouse split into two groups, with the older 18-25 aged lot retaining the original name whereas the one constituting younger teenagers choosing to call themselves Wildlife. Releasing their debut EP One in 1998 and packaging their next production Everyday with the annual Hillsong album of 1999, the church’s youth ministries rebranded themselves as Hillsong United. Since 2002, the band has been led by Joel Houston, son of the megachurch’s senior Pastor and Marty Sampson.
Hillsong United’s both first albums released in the 1990s seemed to be received well both high up above and in the “land down under” by going gold in their sales. During the latter half of the 2000s, Hillsong United was joined by acclaimed New Zealand artist Brooke Fraser who worked on the band’s live albums such as United We Stand and the studio one All of the Above , lending her crooning to tracks such as “Lead Me to the Cross”, “Hosanna” and "For All Who Are to Come". Prior to joining Hillsong, Brooke had a successful debut album under her belt and had toured with world renowned artists David Bowie and John Mayer in Australia as well as her home country. The band’s latest album Aftermath released in February 2011 topped the iTunes top albums charts in New Zealand and Australia and reached the fourth spot on similar US listings.
Hillsong have been playing Christian music missionaries since the release of their debut studio album All of the Above in 2007. The first tour following the album’s release covered North America, touching cities such as Detroit, Michigan, Tacoma, Washington and Toronto, where they were also joined by their Canadian Christian brothers in arms, Starfield. Hillsong United’s 11 th Album Across the Earth released in 2009 spawned two tours, with first one taking place in the spring of 2009 and the other traversing Europe the following year. The live performances of Hillsong United have the feel and look of a large congregation of audience that chant along with the songs and hold their hand up high attempting to reach out to Jesus in hopes that he is pleased with the tuneful tributes.
The Hillsong Church also had to take a united stand at the turn of the century when it disassociated itself from its founder’s father Frank Houston who confessed to having sexually abused a teenager 30 years ago. The Hillsong United moniker is synonymous with the Australian Pentacostal church since it adopted the name of its annual musical gathering “Hillsong” over its initial one of Hills Christian Life Centre. Within some three odd decades, the megachurch has grown from a congregation of 45 being preached to in a public school hall to a 20,000 following being served across four church campuses and 14 extension services all over Sydney. It seems that singing all that divine praise has really paid dividends for the multi-million dollar venture, which had an annual tax-free income of $ 50 million as claimed by its founder and CEO Brian Houston in 2005. So book your HillsongTickets now to join in song with a mass musical worship that aims to earn rewards both in this life and the hereafter.
