Dierks Bentley Tickets Information
Dierks Bentley
Dierks Bentley is a country music singer.
Early life
Dierks Bentley was born in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1993, he graduated from The Lawrenceville School. He attended Vanderbilt University.
Music Career
Bentley worked at The Nashville Network. Capitol Nashville released Bentley's self-titled debut album, which featured his successful first single in 2003, "What Was I Thinkin'?," which went to number 1 on the country charts.
Bentley's musical style is considered to be more traditional than many of his contemporaries and often contains traditional themes of lost or forbidden love, drinking and cheating, like "Lot Of Leavin' Left To Do".
2005 was a big year for Bentley, winning the CMA Horizon Award and being inducted into the Grand Ole Opry.
He frequently performs with Cross Canadian Ragweed. He has also recorded two songs with the Del McCoury Band.
Bentley filmed his upcoming DVD release Live And Loud on June 10, 2006. The DVD was released March 20, 2007.
Bentley released the album Long Trip Alone on Oct. 17, 2006, which had a number 1 hit, "Every Mile a Memory."
Bentley had his first sold out show in Eugene, Oregon on Oct. 31, 2005.
Bentley launched his first headlining tour across the U.S. and became only the third country act ever to be sponsored by Bud Light in October 2006.
On February 10, 2007, Bentley performed at historic Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida as part of the race festivities for the 29th Annual Budweiser Shootout. He performed two songs prior to the race, and held a post-race concert on the famous track just past turn four. Bentley also delivered the famous words, "Gentlemen, start your engines" to kick off the 2007 Bud Shootout.
He was one of the few country artists to perform at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Tennessee in June of 2007.
Dierks performed at Country Thunder in Randall, Wisconsin in July of 2007.
Bentley will perform with many other country artists at the "Big State Festival" at the Texas World Speedway in College Station, TX in October of 2007.
At 8 p.m. sharp, Dierks took the stage at the Memphis Pyramid and sang for 30 minutes for some 20,000 people.
Then when Dierks was 17, a friend told him he had something Dierks needed to hear. It turned out to be Hank Williams, Jr. singing "Man to Man" about a cosmic communication between living son and late father. "That moment really changed my whole perspective," he remembers. "Everything just clicked. I just knew I loved country music."
He started writing songs. He stopped noodling and started learning how to play rhythm guitar. He got himself to Nashville without arousing any fear in his family. And when the realities of Music City, the length of the journey, really sank in and started to discourage him, he made his first visits to the Station Inn, Nashville's most fabled bluegrass bar, with a fake ID.
Dierks still has the file full of songs he assembled when he was taking self-taught classes in Country Music 101. They're battered and falling apart, but they still come out for jam sessions on the bus and band sound checks, where Dierks likes to do a different song every time. They're a substantial symbol of a lifelong commitment to the legacy of country and the serious business of being an artist in charge of his choices, his band and his destiny.
