The alternative rock ensemble was established by brothers, Daniel, Alejandro and Fabian Manzano, in 2004. Based in Sarasota, Florida, the trio is known for the cover songs they upload on YouTube. The brothers named their band after two streets where they lived during childhood. They decided to form their own group after completing their respective graduate degrees. Following their graduation, the brothers started making covers while simultaneously writing their own music. It was in 2007 that the musicians started uploading covers of some of the most popular songs by mainstream artists on YouTube. Their cover songs include ‘Shadow of the Day’ by Linkin Park, ‘No Air’ by Jordon Sparks, ‘Before It’s Too Late’ by Goo Goo Dolls , ‘Will You Be There’ by Michael Jackson , ‘Rolling in the Deep’ by Adele and ‘Grenade’ by Bruno Mars to name a few. Some of these songs recorded over ten million views on YouTube, which attracted several giant recording companies to approach the band. Signing up with 3 peace Records in the same year, Boyce Avenue re-released their covers as digital EPs.
The following year the band also started working on their original material and came out with ‘All You’re Meant to be’ in 2008. The album became a commercial hit and the band performed at a sold out, stand-alone concert at the Mercury Lounge in New York City. One of their tracks, ‘Hear Me Now’ was used by the World Wrestling Entertainment for their Eddie Guerrero tribute video, released in 2009. In the same year, Boyce Avenue was seen playing in four headlining tours held across Philippines after which they initiated their debut US tour. At these shows, the group was seen collaborating with artists such as Kris Allen, Jabbawockeez, Tyler Ward, Megan Nicole, Tiffany Alvord, Kina Grannis, Hannah Trigwell, Fifth Harmony and Cobus Potgieter. In 2010, the trio embarked upon their debut Europe tour.
In the spring of 2010, the band was approached by Universal Republic for a record deal. Working under the label of Universal Republic, Boyce Avenue released a studio album titled ‘All We Have Left’. This album consisted of a few reworked songs from their debut release ‘All You’re Meant to be’. The following year saw several video releases of their original songs such as ‘Dare to believe’, ‘Find Me’, ‘Broken Angel’ and ‘On My Way’. These videos rounded up over one million views on YouTube, making Boyce Avenue a commercial hit.
Boyce Avenue is currently signed with their independent record label company, 3 Peace Records and is working on their third studio album. This year, the band has also been touring throughout the US, Canada, Ireland and UK. Tickets for their US tour are now up for grabs as they are expected to perform in Anaheim, Denver, Philadelphia, Seattle, Hollywood, Chicago, New York, San Francisco and Washington.
