Bar J Wranglers hail from Wilson, Wyoming and grew up being part of the ritual that took place at nights. It all started with humble beginnings when Babe Humphrey formed Bar J Wranglers in 1977. The western music group made its beginning at the family restaurant, Bar J Chuckwagon where the entertainment show was initiated to amuse the guests and lure more customers. The exclusive style of old western entertainment that celebrated ranch life proved to be a success with the audiences and also promoted rural values.
Initially the gatherings were small, but with great music accompanied with entertaining comedy the group started drawing bigger crowds. The name the group made for itself was encouraging. People started traveling to watch their popular shows. Bar J Wranglers happy with the response decided to take their exclusive mix of comedy and music to the people and decided to hit the roads. The move resulted in them gaining more popularity that increased their fan following.
Their father Babe Humphrey gave several live shows that include the Grand Ol' Opry, TNN and many other performances. He became to be known as an impressive cowboy singer, recognized for his expertise on four-part harmony.
Today, Bar J Wranglers feature his sons Scott and Bryan, along with others. Scott is Babe’s oldest son who became part of the group in 1986 and has been managing the group since then. His soft singing voice and expertise as a guitarist make him popular with the audience. Accompanying his musical skills is his winning sense of humor that makes him a perfect fit for the group. The youngest Babe’s son, Bryan is known for his strong lead voice and is known for his yodeling skills .He joined his family business in 1989 and since then he has been composing western songs, yodeling and entertaining audiences with his music and his amusing antics. Other members of the group are Tim Hodgson who is a nationally ranked, old-time fiddle player and joined the group in 1989, instrumentalist Donnie Cook, and bass vocalist Danny Rogers.
