Back Street Boys is one of the most popular pop bands among the teenagers all over the world. Rising to the music scenario in early 1990's, Back Street Boys established their fame in no time. Back Street Boys was the idea of an Orlando Businessman, Lou Pearlman, who was a music admirer. Observing the potential in the five boys from Orlando streets, he encouraged them to make a band under his supervision. Five young lads from Orlando, Florida , including Nick Carter, , Howie Dorough, A.J.Mclean , Charles Edward and Sam Licata merged into a music group and named their band Back Street Boys after Orlando's Backstreet Market.

However artistic differences led to the breakup of Charles and Sam, causing a space amidst the band. Nevertheless Pearlman took immediate auditions for two members of the BSB. The gap in the group was bridged with the selection of Kevin Richardson and Brian Littrell and The Boys stepped in the music industry as BSB. The Boys had their first big concert just after a fortnight after Brian joined the group. For the sake of exposure, the band kept on giving thrilling performances on local roads, nightclubs, public places and restaurants. It took them less than half year of hardwork and they were on the hotline in Florida . It was not until 1995 that they were begin to be recognized world over. The Boys were super stars in rest of the world , but were just ordinary persons in their home town , Orlando USA . It was in 1997 that their smashing hit "Quit Playing Games with My Heart" made Americans their ultimate fans. The Boys made several tours all over America to become able to be recognized as a pop band. Concerts were arranged through out the country and enormous promoting campaigns were started. Consequently their fan's club was enhanced by thousands of American fans.Their fame grew uncontrollably and millions of their records begun to sell worldwide. Their albums were always top of the list. They created mass hysteria among teenagers through songs like "As Long As You Love Me" , "I Want It That Way" and "Shape Of My Heart ". They amassed millions of dollars while breaking records worldwide.
Their fame kept on swelling until their popularity coincided with upcoming rock bands, like Nirvana. Their fans deteriorated considerably but their different music still managed to attract millions of fans in Japan , Australia , North America, Europe, Southeast Asia and Canada . They won several awards including: MTV Video Music Award 1997,1999 , MTV Europe Music Award 1996,1999.2000 , BMI Pop Awards 2000 and ALMA Awards 2000. Today, nearly a decade since their initial success and following a healthy 3year breather, each member admits that they needed time to catch up, grow up and gain some perspective on the whirlwind of fame.
Their latest album "Never Gone", which The Boys has spent over a year to record, has also gained popularity rapidly. It consists of 12 songs and is a typical BSB music, including fast dancing tracks as well as melodious numbers. Truly the average lifespan of most stars in pop industry is far less than a decade. But the timeless fame of Back Street Boys shows their great endurance, dedication and capability.
