History
The city of San Jacinto was founded in 1870 and was incorporated on April 9th, 1888, making it one of the oldest cities in Riverside County .The city was struck by two large earthquakes, one on Christmas day, 1899, and the other on April 21, 1918.

Estudillo Mansion
The Estudillo Mansion is famous for its magnificance and vastness. On Jan 2, 2002, the City of San Jacinto announced the placement of the Estudillo Mansion and the Francisco Heritage Park on the National Register of Historic Places and on the California Register of Historic Resources. This is only the third Riverside County site to receive this honor. The mansion was built in 1884 by Francisco Estudillo, Jr. The mansion and a twin mansion built by his brother Antonio Estudillo, near Soboba Hot Springs are all that remain of a 35,000 acre Mexican land grant given to their father, Jose Antonio Estudillo in 1842.

+ The City's Veteran's Memorial at Druding Park is a construction originated to pay tribute to the men and women of the armed services who serve the nation unconditionally.Each branch of the military in the park has an equipment artifact used in battle as a symbol of their services. There is a tank for the Army, a propeller for the Air Force, an anchor for the Navy, a lighthouse for the Coast Guard, and in the near future the City hopes to add a howitzer for the Marine Corps. This museums displays the natural and human history of San Jacinto and the nearby areas. The showcases exhibit artifacts from pioneer families and also feature the businesses and institutions of San Jacinto.Special exhibits highlight the record-breaking 1937 Soviet transpolar flight which landed in San Jacinto, and the development of downtown.

The Museum also maintains a large collection of historic photographs, which can be used for further researches. Group tours are available by appointment.
