Located along the Mississippi River is a city in the state of Iowa, USA – Dubuque. Dubuque lies at the junction of 3 States named Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin, hence is known as the Tri-State Area. Geographically, the city is a part of the Driftless Area, a portion of North America that survived all three phases of the Wisconsinian Glaciations. According to US Census 2006, the city had a population of 57,696, making it the eighth-largest city in the state. It is the county seat of Dubuque County with a population of 92,384.
