The album's first single was ‘Underneath', a video was subjected to raise the level of human consciousness on the earth. As of May 2008, she was also halfway through writing a memoir focusing on women's issues and will have chapters on sexuality, beauty, relationships and work.
In 1993, Morissette appeared in the film titled Just One of the Girls. Later in 1999, delving into acting again, she appeared as God in the Kevin Smith film Dogma and contributed the song ‘Still' to its soundtrack.
She also appeared in the hit HBO comedies Sex and the City and Curb Your Enthusiasm, and starred in the plays like The Vagina Monologues.
In late 2003, Alanis appeared in the off-Broadway play ‘The Exonerated' as Sunny Jacobs. Expanding her acting credentials, she starred in the Cole Porter biographical film De-Lovely.
Together with a number of other celebrities as an initiative to support Tibet, Morissette participated in a music album called Songs for Tibet in 2008. The album appears at the same time as the start of the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics.
